This Staraet Super 45 is made of Hitachi Yasuki Steel which is the modern Hitachi metals version of Tamahagane steel derived from Japanese iron sand. It is one of the highest quality steels made in Japan due to its very high carbon content and extremely fine grain.

Classically it would take a Japanese blacksmith days without sleep to produce a small amount of this treasured material. The purity of this steel allows for a very sharp edge that will hold its sharpness longer than other steels.

The heavy quarter hollow grind is seriously powerful and hefty! The scales are heavy duty as well. You can immediately feel the quality in the hand.

This is of the highest tier of quality in terms of Japanese blades.

Be careful, Yasuki steel shaves so well it can become addictive. This will assuredly be one of your favorite razors in your collection!

This razor will be finished on a high end Suehiro, Naniwa, Ozuku or Nakayama Japanese natural stone with a taped spine and then will be stropped with a fine Kanayama cordovan strop for the ultimate sharp and smooth shaving edge. This is a process that requires much time and skill. Every razor is sanitized with alcohol before being securely packed. Note that due to age, all vintage blades will have imperfections.
