Vintage Canon AAA 72 1/4 Japanese straight razor in NOS condition w/ Original Box!

Reminiscent of the famous Tanifuji Spalding and Tanifuji Maxfli blades, this razor was designed and manufactured by a Japanese artisan in collaboration with the famous Japanese brand Canon. Every aspect of this blade is quality. High carbon chemical steel, robust scales, beautiful aesthetics and high end finishing.

This blacksmith used a special steel alloy that has a high carbon content with chromium added for corrosion resistance. It was then heat tempered to the ideal hardness for a smooth shaving edge. This is the sort of alloy that you will find exclusively in high end Japanese blades.

The thickness of the spine on this razor is greater than most Japanese razors. This both adds to the performance of the blade and is another testament to quality. These classic straw tone scales have been triple pinned for an extra rigid feel. No expense spared! Needless to say this razor shaves like a dream. The fit and finish is top class. A Japanese blade of this caliber is a must for any collection!

This razor will be finished on a high end Suehiro, Naniwa, Ozuku or Nakayama Japanese natural stone with a taped spine and then will be stropped with a fine Kanayama cordovan strop for the ultimate sharp and smooth shaving edge. This is a process that requires much time and skill. Every razor is sanitized with alcohol before being securely packed. Note that due to age, all vintage blades will have imperfections.
