Vintage NHK 22 Laminated Tang “Home Steel Use” (Japanese Alloy) Japanese Barbers Straight Razor Made in Tokyo, Japan

This gorgeous NHK is a classic 13/16″ hollow ground Japanese straight razor made for professional barbers. These are the kind of sleeper blades that I love.

The “Home Steel Use” inscription on the tang lets us know that they used a high quality Japanese steel alloy. You have to love this! The steel itself is high hardness and fine grain that provides a smooth and close shave. It has a nice heavy weight to it in the hand and thick scales which give it a solid feel. The eased square point is excellent for detailing yet forgiving.

The laminated tang is beautiful. Very little hone wear. Next to new.

This is a process that requires much time and skill. Every razor is sanitized with alcohol before being securely packed. Note that due to age, all vintage blades will have imperfections.
